Full-day Workshop on
New Bodies for Cognitive Humanoids
In conjunction with the
11th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots
Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 9:00 - 17:00
Objectives
The workshop addresses the question of how the body morphology must support processes and representations for emergence of cognitive capabilities and discuss topics related to novel design methodologies of humanoids robots including (but not limited to) new design principles, compliant, high-performance and energy efficient actuators, sensor technologies (in particular skin), soft materials, as well as dynamically reconfigurable software and hardware architectures and high density lightweight power sources.
Topics of interest:- Body morphology
- Mechatronics and Biomechanics
- Actuation and compliance
- Artificial skins
- Soft materials
- New computing paradigms
- Energy and power management
