REHAB Press Conference – 12.03.2019
On the home straight to REHAB 2019 the organizers of the trade fair informed about facts and highlights awaiting the public from 16 to 18 May 2019. On 40,000 square meters approximately 450 exhibitors from twenty countries will present and inform about latest trends from sectors such as aids for barrier-free workplaces, child and youth rehabilitation, orthopaedic aids, inclusion and many more.
Dr. Roland Sigrist from ETH Zurich talked about the CYBATHLON Powered ARM & LEG Prosthesis Series, a race competition in which people with physical disabilities compete against each other to complete everyday tasks using state-of-the-art technical assistance systems. Claudia Breidbach, the pilot of the Team Össur UEX gave a litlle demonstration of what kind of tasks might be exptected during the races, which will take place from 17 to 18 May 2019 in hall 2.
Considering all the topics presented at REHAB, science is obviously indispensable. To cover this part a scientific Symposium on Assistive and Wearable Robotics is being organized by Prof. Dr. Tamim Asfour and his team from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 16 to 17 May 2019 to encourage scientific discussions on the development, design, control and application of wearable robotic technologies.
