• Call for Papers

The International Symposium on Robotics Research (ISRR) was created to provide a lively, intimate, forward-looking forum for discussion and debate about the current status and future trends of robotics. ISRR ‘20 will continue in this tradition through a program that is intended to be ideas-based, and interactive in flavor. We are seeking the submission of papers that emphasize provocative new ideas, open-ended themes, and new directions for robotics.

The program will comprise a combination of invited talks and open submissions organized into interactive panels, keynotes, and debates. Accepted papers will be organized into topical panels, and the panel moderators will work with the authors of accepted papers to coordinate the presentations and maximize the interactivity of the session.

The papers and panel discussions will be edited into a proceedings volume after the symposium and will appear as a Springer Star Series volume.

We encourage submissions from all areas of robotics research and research-based applications, including design, control, robot perception, robot learning, grasping, manipulation, planning, and systems.

    Paper Type

Papers for ISRR 2022 may be submitted in two types:

    • Long Format: We welcome papers of up to 16 pages (including references), in Springer format (see below), that describe thought-provoking research ideas or directions for which there is already established implementation or evidence. Selected papers will be organized into topical panels for presentation, debate and discussion.
    • Blue Sky Ideas Format: We encourage submissions to the “Blue Sky Ideas” track. These up to 8 pages (including references) papers describe visionary ideas, long term challenges, and opportunities in research that are outside of the current mainstream topics of the field and which will provoke discussion or debate.

    Submission and important dates

All papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format through papercept.
